Director

Lydia Siniard Foster is both the founder and owner of Hinge Dance Company, LLC where she serves as Artistic Director as well as the owner and Artistic Director of Oxford Academy of Dance Arts. Lydia was born in Cartersville, Georgia and danced with the Cartersville City Ballet for fifteen years. During her time in Georgia she attended many dance festivals in the metro Atlanta area as well as dance intensives with the Atlanta Ballet and North Carolina School of the Arts.
In 2005, Lydia moved to Oxford, Mississippi to attend the University of Mississippi where she graduated from Ole Miss in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and minors in Italian and Theatre Arts. Since living in Oxford, she has taught a variety of dance to students at different studios in North Mississippi. While at the University of Mississippi, Lydia attended the American College Dance Festival with Mississippi: The Dance Company as a dancer and choreographer. In 2011, Lydia received a 200-hour yoga certification at Etowah Valley Yoga in Cartersville, Georgia and has since received her 500-hour certification, Professional Yoga Therapy certification as well as a 100-hour certification in Prenatal Yoga. She is a registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance as an RYT- 200, 500 PRYT.
In 2016, Lydia took full ownership of Oxford Academy of Dance Arts where she hopes to grow the studio and enrichment of classical dance as she continues to teach ballet, pointe, tap, contemporary and jazz at her studio and for her company. Since 2017, Lydia has also been adjunct faculty at The University of Mississippi where she teaches ballet and contemporary. She also teaches yoga at Southern Star Yoga Center and Pilates at Core Fitness Oxford. Lydia loves seeing her students learn and grow in class and in life and she finds it a privilege to be a part of the artistic and fitness communities in Oxford.
